Founded by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, the course was designed by Jones and Alister MacKenzie and opened for play in 1932. The Peachtree Golf is a design collaboration by amateur star Bobby Jones and golf architect Robert Trent Jones. Bobby Jones was the inspiration behind the Peachtree and Robert was the architect. The original course was completed in 1947. The course is bordered by busy streets and development.

Established in 1904, East Lake is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. Since 2004, East Lake has been the permanent home of The Tour Championship. Tom Bendelow actually laid out the original course at East Lake, back when it was known as Atlanta Athletic Club.

Founded in 1898, the original home of the club was a 10-story building located on Carnegie Way, and in 1904 a golf course was built on Atlanta’s East Lake property. AAC hosted the the 1981, 2001, and 2011 PGA Championships on its Highlands Course.
